Hi, I’m Weng Fei Fung (just call me Weng)

I’m a full-stack developer with years of freelancing and teaching, specializing in JavaScript, React, Node, PHP, and MySQL/Mongo. I’ve worked with startups and companies such as Mixotype, ExRx, and People’s Care, and I’m often consulted for innovative problem-solving.

Familiarity with multiple coding languages helps me provide unique business and tech solutions. I share that passion via bootcamps, electronic publishing, and a YouTube archive at @WengTeachesCode (I’ve moved away from regular YouTube publishing to focus on testing emerging AI developments every month).

I hold a MERN web development certificate from UCLA (top marks). Before the bootcamp I freelanced with the JavaScript–jQuery–PHP–MySQL stack which I self-learned. After certification I was a senior tutor for coding bootcamps across Trilogy, 2U, and edX — taught 159 students React, GraphQL, Sequelize, Node, and more.

I also completed a Project Management course at UC Berkeley (Dec 2022). With a prior healthcare background as a registered nurse, I aim toward entrepreneurial roles in innovative healthcare software — while staying hands-on as an engineer. I’ve also studied Python and AI applications / prompt engineering as AI tooling entered everyday product work.
